Historic Scotland

Historic ScotlandFollowing on from playspotter featuring all of National Trust for Scotland properties, we are delighted that we now feature all 78 Historic Scotland properties, complete with photos, contact details, facilities, admission prices & opening times.

We are extremely grateful to Historic Scotland for agreeing to work with us on this, providing us with full details to make it easy for you to find their properties on playspotter.  Each of the places has a link to the Historic Scotland site for full details of the facilities on offer.

Historic Scotland feature lots of places, from remote standing stones to Scotland's Top Tourist Attraction, Edinburgh Castle.  Most of their properties have displays on history, kids quizzes and either tea & coffee or full cafe facilities.

Hello Playspotters!

Thank you very much for your support since we launched playspotter in October.  We have been amazed and excited by the response, and happy to hear how we have helped parents find places to play already!

The Numbers

We have had almost 4000 unique visitors to the site in our first couple of months – and that’s without any advertising.  6000 places to play are now listed on Playspotter, with over 200 reviews written by our members – if you haven’t signed up why not do so now?  If you don’t want to write a full review you can just select a star rating from 1 – 5.  Register directly with playspotter here, or log in with facebook, twitter or google.

Playspotter Picks

In November we published our first ‘Playspotter Picks’ starting with Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, then adding Edinburgh, The Highlands and Belfast.  These lists provide our top ten places to visit in each city and are ideal if you are visiting somewhere new.  More cities will follow!

Coming Soon

Our first partnership with the National Trust for Scotland has been very successful, and we are excited to have more partnerships to announce in the New Year.  We will also be expanding the database to cover the North of England in January.  Our App is under development as we write, which will make it even easier for you to find places to play near you.

All that remains is to say a very Happy Christmas from us and we look forward to doing more playspotting with you in 2014!
